Hi! I’m happy to be added to Turas Publishing! My name is Tara Brume and I write thrillers and mysteries. I have a new cozy mystery series I will be debuting in a few months. The Sir Kay series will follow the adventures of Kay St. Vincent as she works at being a modern Knight of the Round Table. There are laughs and tears along the way as well as maybe a little romance. If you are a fan of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series, you will love Sir Kay. Thanks for welcoming me here at Turas Publishing!
Part of writing is the journey of discovery that writing takes you on. And I’m not just talking about discovering the story you are writing. As an indie, you have to deal with the behind the scene stuff, too, the “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.” stuff. The cover selection/creation, finding just the right title, advertising, the list goes on and on. This week, my personal journey of discovery has been finding the right title and cover to go with my latest, which I expect out the first of March.
I should go on record as saying, I am NOT the greatest at creating covers. There are scores of places on the web to generate or buy book covers. The choice between the two is largely predicated on your personal level of tech/talent balance and your willingness to pay someone with a higher tech/talent balance. Full disclosure: I paid a close friend with a higher level of tech/talent to create a cover for me. AND I LOVE IT!!
But now that I had a cover I loved, I hated my working title…The Third Option. It was technically correct, but had no pizzazz, no umph, no zing. Instead, my cover artist helped me find a new title that has all of those things, Special Relativity.
So watch this space for Special Relativity by Teresa Blum to come out sometime in March. I assure you, we will have plenty of the hoopla to go with.
Head over to my Facebook page to see a pic of the new cover!
Battle Ridge has a new face in town– Edo the Maneki Neko. You can follow Edo’s adventures around Battle Ridge here.
Maneki Neko are Japanese cats who bring good luck and fortune to a household or business. The Maneki Neko come in different colors which mean different things. Black Maneki Neko like Edo chase away bad spirits. White Maneki Neko bring good fortune. Gold Maneki Neko bring prosperity and red Maneki Neko bring good health.
Over the next few weeks, several other new faces will join Edo. You will be able to follow them on their adventures in Battle Ridge on my Facebook page. Tessa Bonny, Romance Author.
